Philadelphia families currently residing in emergency shelters are eligible to seek a referral through OHS (Office of Homeless Services) to receive up to twelve months of subsidized housing through ECS' Rapid Re-Housing program.

Initially, participants are provided a subsidy for the first twelve months. However, within a year, the head of household is expected to increase their income to allow for the payment of rent at full market rate.

With the support of a Rapid Re-Housing Stabilization Coach, the participant head-of-household set goals for obtaining increased wages and addressing barriers to housing security. The coach understands Philadelphia’s supported housing system and is a guide and emotional support to the whole family as they work to improve their situation. Applying the tools of coaching helps clarify obstacles and outlines a clear plan to overcome them.

The goal: Never risk homelessness again!
