Effective November 1, Dolphins of Delaware Valley has merged with Episcopal Community Services. Founded in 1978 by the Rev. Virginia C. Thomas (one of the first women to be ordained a deacon of the Episcopal Church in America), Dolphins coordinates volunteers to visit residents of area nursing homes.

Although the organization will be officially a part of ECS, supporters can and should still designate gifts specifically for this ministry.Dolphins Volunteer Coordinator Marilyn Knox will continue her work as an ECS employee. The Dolphins board has reformed as an advisory committee for the Dolphins mission to ensure continuity, while former Dolphins Board Member Holly Srogota is now an official member of the ECS Board of Trustees.

This new relationship will leverage the administrative and management resources of ECS, ensuring that friendships between volunteers and lonely seniors will continue to flourish. The Dolphins mission continues to need donations and volunteers to support this vital work.
